MPG.Discovery brings together all e-resources that have been made available to the entire MPG. These include e-books (MPG.Ebooks), electronic journals (EZB), databases (MPG.ReNa) and MPG publications (MPG.PuRe). In addition, there are numerous publications available in open access, e.g. DOAJ Articles and JSTOR, but also many discipline-specific and cross-disciplinary preprints from arXiv, EconStor, PsyArXiv and many more.

The holdings of all Max Planck Institutes involved in the project are also listed, making MPG.Discovery an excellent starting point for scientific research.

About MPG.Discovery

The MPG.Discovery project was conducted in 2023–2025 with funding from the BeSo Commission. Together with the service provider effective WEBWORK, twelve Max Planck Institutes adapted the vufind search engine to the needs of the MPG, created their own solr index with MPG-specific resources and OA sources and implemented an individually customized instance for each participating institute. As part of an operational concept, MPG.Discovery was made permanent at the end of the project period and is being continuously developed further.
